Make Art that Sells, Part B
I am taking Make Art that Sells, Part B and The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design right now and it is keeping me very busy and inspired. I will share with you later my designs for The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. In Make Art that Sells, Part B, each week we focus on a different market. Last week was Children's Apparel which I love! I am so inspired by the beautiful florals for little girls apparel and couldn't wait for the assignment. But it was to create Pirate-inspired design which I wasn't sure about. Lilla Rogers teaches the course and knows these markets and I have to trust her expertise! It took me a couple of days to get started, because I wasn't sure where to start. Then, I just tried to create and see where it took me. I'm excited about what I designed. And I even integrated some of my florals with the theme. Here is what I created. What do you think? Here's a closeup of my little whale. Isn't she cute?
Last week I created this Gingerbread inspired Holiday card for the Paper Market. I was really excited about my Gingerbread House. It was so fun to create. The house was watercolored and I did the "happy holidays" in calligraphy which I really enjoy doing.
Here's a closeup of my gingerbread house. This week we are working on the Scrapbooking Market which is really fun! I'm excited to see what everyone creates. Check back next week to see what I designed for this exciting market.
Have a beautiful day, Kathryn
