One of my most favorite things to do is create a pretty card for a friend on their birthday. I thought I could show you the process of creating the card above for my friend Saori here today. Her birthday was earlier this month. She is one of my favorite friends and an amazing artist. You can check out her work here. Her work is inspiring and beautiful.
I first sketched out the flower. I referenced a photo I had taken of an anemone. And then inked it with my favorite Micron pens. The yellow that you see in the photo is to help keep areas white. It's called Supernib. I love using it. Once I apply the resist I begin painting. Once painted and dried I did the calligraphy around the edge of the card. And then it's finished. I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of my process. Have a beautiful day, Kathryn
